How long does the whole laundry process actually take?

Jewel·Updated May 13, 2026·7 questions

Tourists assume laundry happens fast. The truth: 24 hours is fast, 48 is normal at hotel concierge, 12 hours is express. Here's where every hour goes.

What's the total time from booking to delivery?

Standard turnaround at our service: 24 hours. Express same-day: 8-10 hours if booked before 11am. Standard at hotel concierge: 24-30 hours. Hotel concierge express: 4-6 hours but premium pricing. Walk-in laundromat (you do it yourself): 2-3 hours including waiting at the shop. The 24-hour standard breakdown: 1-3 hours pickup window, 30 min in-transit to centre, 2-3 hours wash and dry, 30 min hand-fold and pack, 1-3 hour delivery window. Total active processing: 4-5 hours; total elapsed: 24 hours due to scheduling efficiency.

Why does washing alone take 2-3 hours?

Commercial washing machines run longer cycles than home machines because they handle larger loads with more thorough rinses. A typical commercial cycle: 90 minutes wash + 30-60 minutes spin to extract water, then drying. Drying in commercial gas dryers: 30-45 minutes for cottons. Total wash-to-dry: 2-3 hours. Walk-in laundromats use shorter home-cycle machines (45 min wash, 30 min dry) but they handle smaller loads and quality is lower. The 2-3 hour wash-and-dry at commercial scale gets cleaner, more thoroughly-rinsed clothes.

Can I get same-day delivery?

Yes — book by 11am for 6-9pm same-day return. The math: 11am pickup, 12pm at centre, 12-3pm wash, 3-4pm dry, 4-5pm fold and pack, 5-9pm delivery window. We charge 30% express premium for same-day. About 25% of our orders are same-day, mostly tourists with tight schedules. Same-day works best for orders under 5 kg — larger orders (8 kg+) require staggered processing that can push delivery to next morning even with same-day intent.

What's the latest I can book for same-day return?

11am for 8-9pm return is comfortable. After 1pm, same-day becomes uncertain — we might offer 9-10pm delivery or push to tomorrow morning. After 3pm, same-day is generally not possible (the wash and dry cycles can't fit before delivery cutoff at 9pm). For 'I need it tonight' bookings made after 1pm, the alternative: 24-hour standard turnaround means delivery 24h later (e.g., 4pm tomorrow), which works for most flights at 6pm or later.

Why does pickup take a 1-3 hour window instead of an exact time?

Bangkok traffic. We dispatch riders for multiple pickups per route, and each pickup is geographically optimized. A 1-hour window from 4pm-5pm means the rider arrives at your hotel between 4pm and 5pm depending on where you fall in their route. We message you 10 minutes before arrival with the exact ETA. Specific 15-minute windows are possible (for tourists with tight tour schedules) but cost an extra 50 THB coordination fee. The 1-hour windows are the default because they're 95% reliable.

What if the wash reveals a problem (stain that won't come out)?

We WhatsApp you within 1 hour of starting the wash, before processing further. Common notifications: 'permanent yellow on collar — re-wash unlikely to remove, proceed?', 'wool sweater shrinkage risk if dried — line-dry only?', 'forgotten passport copy in pocket, ruined.' Your reply guides next steps — re-wash with stronger treatment, accept as-is, or escalate. This honest checkpoint adds 30 minutes to total turnaround on problem orders but prevents 'we ruined your shirt' surprises.

Why does delivery take a 1-3 hour window?

Same as pickup — Bangkok traffic and route optimization. We deliver in efficient routes; your hotel might be the third stop or the eighth. We message ETA 10 minutes before arrival. Specific times are possible at +50 THB coordination fee. Most tourists prefer the flexible window because it's free. For business travelers who need precision (delivery during a specific 30 minutes), the precision fee is worth it. Note: delivery during Bangkok rush hour (4-7pm) extends windows by 30-60 minutes for traffic.
